Overall Goal

To strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Gondar City through targeted training, technology transfer, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Target Audience

Micro and small enterprise owners, managers, and employees in Gondar City.

Four Key Support Areas
1. Technical Skills Training

Objective: To improve the technical capabilities of MSE employees, leading to higher quality products and services, increased efficiency, and reduced waste.

Needs Assessment
  • Conduct surveys and interviews with MSEs to identify specific technical skills gaps.
  • Analyze the local market demand and industry trends to determine relevant training areas.
Examples of Potential Training Areas:
  • Metalworking: Welding, machining, fabrication
  • Woodworking: Carpentry, furniture making, joinery
  • Textile and Garment: Sewing, pattern making, tailoring, embroidery
  • Food Processing: Baking, dairy processing, fruit and vegetable preservation
  • Construction: Masonry, plumbing, electrical installation
  • ICT: Basic computer skills, web design, digital marketing
Training Delivery
  • Offer a variety of training formats: short courses, workshops, on-the-job training, and apprenticeships.
